Building the Asian American Movement: Then and Now

To supplement our exhibit At First Light: The Dawning of Asian Pacific America, Visual Communications and the Japanese American National Museum will host Building the Asian American Movement: Then and Now, a panel of Asian American activists with deep experiences in political and social organizing, spanning from the 1970s to the present. On July 12th from 7:30pm – 9:30pm at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum, the panelists will discuss what motivated them to become politically charged and what it means to be an activist in today’s world.

Moderated by VC co-founder Eddie Wong, the panelists will include Florante Ibanez, Miya Iwataki, Sandy Maeshiro, Tiffany Do, Frances Huynh, Jonathan Paik, and Sophia Cheng.
RSVPs are recommended.
